APRIL! Hello spring hi hi hi. This month I’ve been shaking off the frost and playingggg. It’s been such a good month full of beautiful events, music, clothes, friends, and more so let’s get into it.

What are you reading?:

My dad and I are chronic post it note users. At work, throughout my day, whatever I’m doing I usually find myself writing something down and putting it in my pocket. At the end of the day I take my crumpled up paper and put it in my memory box. But, I write it down in my moleskin first of course. Below is a photo of the mess in my pockets.

My very important notes

Finished a few books this month (currently reading number 9). The friend library continues and granted me A Certain Hunger. Warning it is about cannibalism. That part is obviously not fun to read. But, the way Chelsea G. Summers writes is intense and all consuming. I (all pun intended) ate this book up.

I am currently reading A Gentleman In Moscow by Amor Towles. It is so so good. The count is charming and the perfect character. I’m not finished yet so don’t say anything, but if you’re craving a book that is sweet and historical go grab this one.

What are you watching?:

All of my shows are finished. So, there’s been a lull in the household. I’m in need of recs.

When all else fails I still have Survivor. Jeff Probst, I love you.

YouTubes wise, I love love love Susie Lola. Her style is just so cute. She inspires my outfits and I unfortunately find myself scouring Depop after watching her videos. Also a really good editor I do have to say.

Took a couple days to watch La Chimera. Such a gorgeous movie. The shots, the ending, the Coraline esque dowsing rod. I really really enjoyed watching this.

Sici, Gracie, and I rode bikes to see Sinners. The hype is so valid for this movie. Vampires!!

In other MAJOR news I have not been watching Survivor to go to bed. I’ve been…meditating…whattttt. Can you believe? It’s actually been really amazing. I especially like the ones where they set up a beach scene for you.

Where’d you get that?:

A couple of my beautiful friends and I had a hometown visit to Denver. We went crazy on Broadway Street and I got a ton of cute vintage clothes.

Blue gingham. Can’t get enough at the moment.

I did a closet clean out, really excited to get those old clothes out of my room, that’s the next step. But, for now I’m feeling a little lighter. I have an issue with emotional attachment and clothes and items, so any advice for that would be great because I keep saving clothes for my unborn daughter. There is a pile for my sisters too don’t worry yall.

Cute pants. Not jeans, but pants. I got myself some Free People capris and Le Bon Shoppe Arc pants. They’re both just perfect and somehow make any top look like I should be walking to the farmers market, but I’m really into that.

Stripes on stripes on stripes per usual.

What are you listening to?:

I am once again talking about Waxahatchee…I’m sorry I’m sorry. I can’t help it. Recently her Apple Music sessions have been brought to my attention. Bad news is that it’s only on Apple Music. Good news is that I promise you won’t stop listening to it. Let me get “Right Back To It.” See what I did there…

Waxahatchee and MJ Lendermen covered Lucinda Williams’ “Abandoned.” WOOOOOOOF. It’s the most beautiful slap in the face. The song is full of nostalgia and love. It reminds me of photo booths and the way too true line, “These boots are the same boots I was wearing then.”

Still listening to Haim. Still listening to The Sundays. “A Certain Someone” has been carrying those boots to work.

This is just a really good photo of Kayla #favorites

Concert wise, I saw Amyl and the Sniffers and it was perfect. Energy, energy, energy. I haven’t seen a show with that much unleashed fire in a longggg time. It was wild.

I also just saw Japanese Breakfast. Such a beautiful show topped off with Innertown Pub and running into friends. A perfect night if I do say so myself.

Sici and I are beginning a Summer Playlist and it’s shaping up to be quite amazing.

Gracie at the clothing swap!

What are yall doing?:

My beautiful friends are so talented. I’ve attended a lot of their events this month, so that has been a huge highlight.

Shoutout to Gracie’s events–always full of love. Horsegirl Nation by Brigid Broderick had my top rib hurting. Anddd Liska just released an EP. Seeing her perform at the Hideout was so amazing.

Lastly, we had a random Saturday this month that was seriously such a beautiful day. I had my hair cut that day and met up with the grrrls right after. We walked around Logan enjoying the sun, took a trip to Gracie’s to try on her moms 80s clothes, and ended at Kingston Mines. The next day I woke up with no scaries, only texts of “that was such a fun day.” Saturdays are for playing. We’ll be out all summer long and not in the corner.

See you next month love ya. Go get that song on Apple Music.
