May 2025 Favorites
OOF May. It has come and gone in a flash. Busy, busy month full of so much fun and good stuff. As usual there was lots of playing, music, clothes, reading, birthdays galore, and to top it all off…Do Division fest. May we get into it.
What are you reading?
I finished Gentleman In Moscow. What a good read. It was just so much fun. The ending was perfection. Highly highly recommend this book.
I also recently finished I Love Dick by Chris Kraus. If you haven’t heard of this book, it is a spiral of infatuation intermixed with dives into artists and feminist discussion. It is such an interesting read full of beautiful moments on one page and wtf moments on the other. It messes with your head in a really really cool way. Definitely a book that I wish I read in college with a full discussion circle. But, that’s book 11 now. I gotta catch up a little bit.
Loved this quote so much that I took a picture.

What are you watching?
Survivor season 48 is finished. Kyle got the win. Well deserved. I’m getting ready for season 50 by watching the past seasons.
Okay no more Survivor talk…for now.
The roomies and I watched Overcompensating. Such a good show. I was cracking the hell up. We would rewind and watch scenes again. That's how funny it was.
In sad news and not my favorite news I’ve had a bout of strep throat that won’t leave me. It’s like the guy that stays in your instagram story likes. But, its given me time to watch some movies. I watched the Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield movie We Live In Time. Ugh this one got me. I cried and cried. Which honestly felt great.

Where’d you get that?
We decided we’re staying in our apartment, so it has been a month of home renovations. Moved the couch set up which you will see below. Shoutout Sici for making Kayla and I open our minds. That’s been really exciting. New bath rugs, shower curtains, and hallway runner. I’m looking at my sentence of apartment renovations being exciting and that’s terrifying and making me feel like my frontal lobe is getting a little more full.
Omg finally got rid of my clothes. WOOHOO! A long process that will keep pushing, but for now I am feeling lighter.
I also am now the owner of loafers. I did buy them on Depop and of course the seam popped. Waiting on them to be fixed at the cobbler currently.
Otherwise, these hungry caterpillar socks are amazing and I’ve been keeping it pretty classic with my style lately. A good tshirt and jeans will always make me feel the most confident.

What are you listening to?
Finally Blondshell released her album. It’s just so good. Pure Blondshell on every song. It’s tongue in cheek, hopelessly relatable, and has that dark grungy energy that is a cherry on top. Her music feels like a late night walk with teary eyes that you keep trying to blame on your allergies.
“Joy” by Lucinda Williams. A classic fuck you song.
Indigo De Souza!!! New music! Love her so much. “Hearthrob” brings me back to why I fell for her music in the first place. Fuzzy tight instrumentals, creative lyrics, and full force. Something De Souza does so well is take control of memory and emotion while still letting it breathe. “Hearthrob” is saying ‘This is mine now, not yours. I’m gonna go do what I want.’ “God when I’m a grown up/I wanna have a full cup/A true heartthrob.”
I stopped at the farmers market before Do Divison and got a chocolate croissant because duh. Snapped this photo of all the pastries. Glorious
What are yall doing?
I love birthdays and went to two this month that were just so sweet and cute. Vicky had a wig party and Lucy’s Juice Fest was beautiful. Lucy rented out the back of the bar and we had a timeee. It was an unofficial parents weekend, which is always my favorite. Love seeing the beautiful people my friends come from.
Lucy, Juice Fest edition.
Went to Small Bar with Frances, Carley, Sici, and Gracie. If you need a date spot this is a good one. Beautiful drinks and food. Speaking of, I recently found out about a Spaghett (miller high life and aperol) wowowow drink of the summer.
I spent the last weekend of May working a beer tent at Do Division. The people I worked with were the sweetest and so so cool. Their stories were hilarious. I have never been in an environment that was that fast paced. “Hi how are you doing? What can I get you?” was 75% of my vocabulary that weekend, but it was definitely worth it. Plus my friends came to visit me and it made me feel so loved and special <3.
Gracie and I at the festival! What a weekend.
What a beautiful start to the summer. I’m excited to see what the rest of these months hold…June’s favorites are about to go crazy.
